Collecting Authentic Music Memorabilia Online

Monday, October 31st, 2011

Are you a dedicated collector of music memorabilia? You search throughout the internet as well as visiting store after store to collect your favorite memorabilia. It sometimes becomes very difficult to find the right items that you actually love. But you will find a wide range of items especially on the internet.
Even a simple ticket of a successful concert can become a piece of memorabilia. Other options are the autographed items of a favorite artist or a music band or even an instrumentalist. These autographed items comprise of posters that are signed, album covers with the signature of the artist, instruments that are autographed and ticket stubs that are signed.
Those items which have an original and authentic autograph are the most wanted items and are quite sought after by the lovers of music. Autographed memorabilia is also a good investment for the future. The value of these items increases when the artist dies or the band breaks up or even if the artist or the band gains much more popularity with time.
Again if you love musical instruments more than songs then you will be interested in signed musical instruments. You will feel great to hold a guitar or any other instrument which was once held by the great artist who played it.
But before you buy anything check the authenticity of the item. Make sure that the signatures are original and the store or the website is not selling you something that is not authentic. Collecting music memorabilia is a good way to surround you with the feel of music other than just listening to the music. Go and collect your music memorabilia now.
Visit Mikes Music Memorabilia site where you can find rare collectable items from The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson.

CATRESE WEST AKA MISS MINI RECEIVES SONG REVIEWS FROM TAXI

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Catrese West (Miss Mini) is a budding songwriter in Rocky Mount North Carolina. She was a professional singer for 20 years before she finally decided to begin a songwriting career. This career began only about two months ago. In those two months, she learned how to build a home studio, how to use songwriting software, wrote a couple of songs and has now received reviews for two of her songs from TAXI, her independent A&R Company. The first step in this journey was to build a studio. She researched the task on the net and found a blog called Ultimate Songwriting. This blog gave her step by step instructions to the equipment and set-up she would need to create a home studio. Her home studio consists of a laptop, studio software, an audio/midi interface, a condenser microphone, studio monitors. The musical equipment was purchased from Zzounds.com. This website has very competitive prices on musical equipment and price was a factor in the building of the studio. Specifically, the list of equipment is as follows: Gateway T3200 Laptop Sonar Home Studio 7 Software TASCAM US-144 Audio/MIDI Interface CAD GXL2200 Condenser Microphone Samson Studio Dock USB Monitors Next she needed to learn how to use songwriting software. After searching the web for a product that suited her needs, she purchased Sonar Home Studio 7. Since the only instrument Mini can play is her vocal cords, she needed software that had all the necessary instruments built in and would allow her to incorporate her vocals. The software is relatively easy to use and has very good online support. Although learning the software is an ongoing process, she is becoming a better engineer with each song she records. Her very first attempt at songwriting was a song called “Who She Is”. The song is about a woman who becomes suspicious when her significant other has secret cell phone conversations. Miss Mini has also written 3 other songs entitled “Slow”, “Can’t Stop” and “Compelled” all of which can be heard on Electronic Press Kit at Sonicbids.com. “Slow”, was the second effort with “Can’t Stop” being the third and “Compelled” the most recent. When listened to in that order, one can hear the technical improvements. After she wrote “Who She Is” and “Slow”, she submitted them to TAXI for review. It took about a month to receive the reviews. The review for “Who She Is” follows below. “GREAT CONCEPT!!!! I really like this song idea, but this song has so much room to be strengthened. You have a cool melody, but you need to add more rhythm and creative style to it. This song is very ruff, so you have plenty of time to build off of it. Lyrically your story develops well, your point definitely comes across, but you’re leaving too much space in your verses where that space would be filled in with lyrics. Your structure should be an 8 bar verse that progresses into an 8 bar chorus.” Here is the review for “Slow”. “Lyrically I like your story line. You want to work more on your melody on this song. I’m not hearing that addicting melody that will make come to hear more. That’s the affect you want to create melodically. Give the listener something that sticks in their heads for a while.” There was also an overall critique of which the results appear below. “Catrese, Thanks for your submission to Taxi. I can hear your song writing potential, you just need to be guided so that you understand the basics of song writing. Let me recommend a book, Shortcuts to Hit Song writing. This will give you an understanding of structure. As well if you were to use more melody styles in your songs that will give your song a sense of change. You don’t want to keep the same melody throughout the entire song. The listener will grow tired from hearing the repetitive rhythm”. With these reviews in mind, Miss Mini is in the process of re-working both songs. She is very appreciative of the constructive criticism and has already purchased the recommended text. What is most important to her is that this professional in the music industry heard her potential. For that she is extremely grateful. That statement alone confirms her raw talent and gets her excited about her future in the field. Miss Mini’s goal is to become one of the premier songwriters of our time and based on these reviews, she is on the right track. Your Favorite Music Instrument Store

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

What you can expect to find in a music instrument store are electric guitars, acoustic guitars and bass guitars, as well as drums and percussion, music keyboards, live sound and recording software and studio equipment from all the leading brands.
A good music instrument store will offer deals on the hottest music gear. Music123 is one such store that has a wide selection of musical instruments and musical equipment.
Other items you might find in a music instrument store would be DJ equipment and stage lighting, band and orchestra needs, clothes and lifestyle items, music instruction videos and books about making music.
Any instrument that produces music is a musical instrument.
There are six main categories of instruments to be found in a music instrument store. These are bowed strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, keyboard and the guitar family.
” Bowed Strings: the violins, the violas, the cellos and the double basses ” Woodwind: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon ” Brass Instruments: trumpet, fresh horn, trombone, tuba ” Percussion Instruments: tuned, indefinite pitch ” Keyboard Instruments: plucked, struck, aerated, electronic ” Guitar Family: six-stringed and the four-string bass guitar.
The brass and woodwind instruments work by blowing air into the instrument which in turn vibrates within the instrument making a sound. The type of music that is produced will depend on the length of the circulation of air that is blown into the product, the shape of it and also the method of the tone and also the way in which it is created.
The percussion instruments produce sounds when they are struck. The sounds that are generated from it will depend on the shape of the device and also the size of the item.
Bowed instruments including the guitar family are played by strumming and plucking at the strings. These instruments produce a sound that is dependent on the amount of strings, the tension and the length of the vibration of the strings.
Other types of music devices include keyboards, piano as well as electronic items.
In the western world, one of the largest musical instruments, the piano, is the most popular form of producing music.
A piano can be classified as both a percussion and a string instrument; percussion because the player strikes the key to make a sound, and string because the sound is actually the result of a string’s vibration. The strength of striking on the key determines the volume – the percussion angle, whereas some will argue that the “velocity” of the keystroke that determines the volume and not the strength behind it – thus making it a string instrument.
Many people would love to learn how to play a musical instrument, but for many the price of buying a new instrument is just too high. Consider the cost of a new piano which can cost well over $2000 for the most basic model. Even a smaller instrument such as a flute can cost as much as $3000 which is far beyond what many can afford to pay.
As an alternative to purchasing new from a music instrument store, there is always the option of buying used musical instrument. This is a viable option for those wanting to learn to play without spending a fortune. Typically over 50% savings can be realized.
Finding used music instruments can be somewhat difficult. Common instruments like pianos, violins and guitars are easy to find, however more obscure instruments are harder to find. Searching the internet is usually the first approach but sometimes your local music instrument store may surprise you in having the piece you would like (or at least know where to get one).

offers products and product reviews of musical instruments. You will also find articles about the music and musical instruments
